For our next exhibition, we are bringing West Virginia based artist Logan Schmitt. His imaginative illustration feels of one who intimately knows West Virginia and the magic that lies within its natural landscape. His creative work continues to catch the eye of many including large musical acts such as The Avett Brothers, mewithoutyou, Norma Jean, Old Crow Medicine Show, and more. While his poster work makes up the largest part of his silk-screen printmaking career, we have decided to focus on his illustration. Schmitt will bring several ink on paper originals to be displayed for his solo exhibition. We hope you will come to meet this young creative, and enjoy his work as our new show!
Logan Schmitt is an illustrator who grew up in the woods in Wheeling, West Virginia. His fascination with nature and the small places of the forest are ever-present in his work and are a continual source of inspiration. Stylistically, he uses lots of lines and flat colors to present animals and other natural elements in an otherworldly light. When he isn’t illustrating posters for bands or designing t-shirts, you can find him somewhere in the woods or down by the creek. He currently lives in Wheeling with his wife and owl figurines.
